While this is a Circle for Women Leaders, there is a lot to learn from exploring more about our LGBTQIA+ community brothers who are hidden within one of the most hostile sports for queer inclusion. Heated Rivalry as a show is proving the need for inclusivity and representation in a league that has shown the complete opposite with its historically homophobic “locker room talk”. We will discuss how the show is transforming Ice Hockey’s image, increasing fan engagement, and challenging traditional hyper-masculine norms that are too often seen in sports.
