Since joining the Women Leaders staff in 2023, Nyia’s responsibilities have included annual leadership program execution at events such as the On the Rise Summit, Emerging Women in Sports Leadership Summit, the Accelerator Summit, and Executive Hiring Roundtable.
In her role as Manager of Leadership Programming and Events, Nyia creates event applications through the organization’s software platform as well as tracks logistics for scholarship and leadership programming registrations. She also coordinates speakers, manages vendor contracts, creates surveys and reports based on an event’s demographic data, and assists in partnering with aligned organizations for events. Nyia manages staff on-site programs and serves as a facilitator of the On the Rise Summit and Women of Color Circle.
The Olathe, Kansas, native earned a bachelor’s degree in health management from Friends University where she was a basketball and track student-athlete. Prior to Women Leaders, Nyia was an academic advisor for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She managed the academic schedules for students at the School of Medicine and assisted with the opening of a new campus in St. Joseph, Missouri. Before that, Nyia was a graduate assistant at Ottawa University while completing her master of business administration.
Nyia enjoys coaching her basketball team, spending time with her "fur baby" Jazz, and exploring new experiences and adventures.
